Two people. One shared love of Gardens.
Soul Garden Studio grew from a shared love of gardens and a belief in the way they can change how we feel and live.
After years spent working across horticulture, landscaping and landscape design, we found ourselves drawn to the same kind of gardens — natural, layered and full of life. Gardens that feel less designed for a photograph, and more like places you want to spend time in.
THE PEOPLE BEHIND SOUL GARDEN
Different strengths. A shared approach.
We share a love of gardens, the outdoors and the beauty found in things that have lived a little. Old buildings, weathered sheds, beautiful doors and windows, dried flowers and natural materials gathered on walks — we’re drawn to things with character, history and a story to tell. We love growing and harvesting our own food, working with our hands, travelling and finding inspiration in the places we visit.
We both have an instinct to see the potential in a place. We’re drawn to what makes each property unique — its landscape, architecture, existing trees, views and the way it feels. Rather than imposing a particular style, we like to work with these qualities, keeping what is worth keeping and introducing new elements thoughtfully to create a garden that feels connected to its surroundings.
More than anything, we share a belief in how profoundly a garden can change the way people feel. In a world where it’s increasingly easy to disconnect from nature — and from each other — we want to create places that draw people back outside. Places to slow down, get your hands dirty, grow something, share a meal, spend time with family and friends, or simply sit quietly amongst the plants.
That’s what we want Soul Garden Studio to be about — creating gardens that bring people closer to nature, to each other and to the places they call home.
Shannon
Landscape designer & horticulturist
Shannon brings a deep understanding of plants, place and the way a garden feels. Her approach combines horticultural knowledge with thoughtful design, creating gardens that are layered, enduring and deeply connected to the people who live in them.
Years spent managing high-end private gardens across a range of styles have given Shannon an intimate understanding of plants and how differently they respond from one site to another. Working within these gardens over many years has also shaped the way she designs — with an appreciation for how a garden evolves, matures and becomes more beautiful with time when the right plants are chosen and thoughtfully managed.
At the heart of Shannon’s approach is listening. She has a natural ability to understand what clients need from their garden — not just how they want it to look, but how they want to live and feel within it. She brings this understanding into the design, creating spaces that feel personal, connected and genuinely belong to the people who call them home.
Flo
Landscape construction & horticulture
Flo brings years of hands-on landscaping experience, formal training in landscape construction and studies in horticulture and forestry in France. He has an instinctive eye for design, a deep understanding of construction and a resourceful approach to materials.
He spent many years developing landscape concepts, working alongside draftspersons to translate his ideas and vision into detailed plans. His time as a landscape estimator and consultant also gave him a strong understanding of construction costs and the practicalities of bringing a design to life. This experience allows him to consider budget from the outset, helping clients understand where their money is best spent and keeping ideas grounded in what is achievable.
Flo sees possibility in a space — finding practical, creative ways to turn ideas into gardens that feel natural and belong.
